Cruisin' On Main Street In Mesa Returns...

This free informal monthly cruise night will now happen year round on the 4th Saturday of the month and will run up and down Mesa's Main Street for apx one mile between Country Club Drive on the west, and Mesa Drive on the east. (400 West to 400 East along Main St.) The biggest crowds will be located along Main Street right around Center Street (0).

Hundreds of people plus families with their coolers and lawn chairs will line both sides of Main Street like for a parade to watch and cheer-on the hundreds of vintage vehicles cruising by from around 6pm to 10pm. Although, lots of savvy car-folks will be arriving before 4pm to shop, dine and secure a good viewing location.

Many of the restaurants and shops along Main Street will be open late to accommodate the crowds, and the whole downtown cruise night was organized to be family friendly. Even the Mesa cop's have been very friendly to the cruisers, (but don't push it with the burn-outs, we don't want to ruin a good thing, cruise responsibly). Come early to browse the shops and gallery's, then dine at one of the many shady sidewalk cafe's that line downtown Mesa's Main Street. Many of these shops and cafe's will have special deal's and discount's for the cruisers and spectators so be sure to ask.

There will be plenty of free public parking available all along the cruise route too. So bring the whole family, you'll be glad you did. The monthly downtown Mesa cruise night will have something of interest for everyone. It will be a fun and inexpensive Saturday night out. Hope to see you there.

Second Saturday Each Month: Pontiac Night @ The Rock N' Roll McDonald's Car Show

The big event: If you love cool cars, this is a good place to be on Saturday night: The Rock N' Roll McDonald's Car Show has been rocking most Saturdays since 1990 and continues to attract both participants, who bring their cars, and viewers. The first event brought just 12 cars, and now, there are between 400-450 classic and muscle cars, hot rods and modern exotics on a given Saturday. Organizer Chico Espinoza says the show is well organized and is known through the country and beyond. It's free to participate or to view. The show begins at dusk during the summer months and goes on until about 10 p.m. Professional mobile disc jockey Johnny B provides the music, and he's open to requests to help enhance a visit. 9175 E. Indian Bend Road, Scottsdale. (480)-443-0080 or scottsdalepavilions.com.
